Downtown Miami, United States · Supertall — Stacked Glass Cubes

Waldorf Astoria Hotel & Residences Miami

Internal preview — photography pending licensing clearance from the developer

“It didn't just add a building to the skyline — it reset where the skyline's top now sits.”

At 1,049 feet and 100 stories, Waldorf Astoria Hotel & Residences is Miami's first supertall skyscraper and, for now, its tallest building outright. Carlos Ott's conceptual design — a cubism-influenced stack of offset glass volumes inspired by sculptor Alberto Giacometti's explorations of space and fractured form — was developed into a buildable tower by architect-of-record Sieger Suarez, with interiors throughout by BAMO. The tower sits directly on Biscayne Boulevard at the edge of Bayfront Park, minutes from Brickell, the Arts District, and Miami Worldcenter, and pairs 360 branded residences with a fully operating Hilton-flagged hotel.

The Vibe

Waldorf Astoria is Hilton's flagship ultra-luxury hotel brand, tracing its lineage to the original 1893 Waldorf Astoria New York — famous for the Peacock Alley lounge and white-glove service now reinterpreted here as a Biscayne Boulevard supertall.

The Honest Take

In favor

  • Miami's tallest supertall and the city's first Waldorf Astoria address, backed by BAMO interiors and a dedicated Hilton-flagged hotel team
  • The 360 branded residences occupy their own zones of the tower, separate from hotel guest floors, per the massing plan
  • Direct Biscayne Boulevard / Bayfront Park frontage puts it within walking distance of Brickell, the Arts District, and Miami Worldcenter

Worth weighing

  • Still years from delivery (2029 estimate) — a long pre-construction hold before residents can move in
  • Ultra-luxury pricing (avg. ~$2,600/sf, penthouses up to $50M) puts it well outside most Downtown Miami buyers' range
  • As Miami's first true supertall, construction methods and timeline carry more uncertainty than a conventional mid-rise tower
