Brickell, Miami, United States · Branded Mixed-Use Supertall — Under Construction
Mercedes-Benz Places Miami
Internal preview — photography pending licensing clearance from the developer
“Mercedes-Benz spent a century building things that move; Places is its first attempt at building something that stays put.”
Mercedes-Benz's first residential project in North America, Mercedes-Benz Places Miami is a 67-story, 791-unit mixed-use supertall rising at 1133 SW 2nd Avenue in West Brickell. JDS Development Group is building it on the 1 Southside Park assemblage it began piecing together in 2020, with SHoP Architects and Mercedes-Benz's own design team shaping the towers around the brand's 'Sensual Purity' design language, Woods Bagot designing the interiors, and Field Operations reimagining Southside Park itself at the base. Beyond the residences, the project folds in a 174-key Treehouse Hotel, roughly 200,000 square feet of office space, and a new City of Miami fire station — one of the largest mixed-use redevelopments underway in Brickell.
Amenities

Silver Arrow Lounge & Chef's Kitchen
A residents' lounge and private-dining chef's kitchen anchor the social amenities, alongside two signature restaurants, a cocktail bar, and a café open to residents and the public at the base of the tower.

Rooftop & Garden Pools
An exclusive rooftop pool plus separate sun and garden pools with towel and food & beverage service, overlooking Brickell and Biscayne Bay.
Wellness Suite
Hot, dry, and infrared saunas, an onsen ritual circuit, a Himalayan salt room, aromatherapy and steam rooms, and a fitness center round out a spa-level wellness floor (club memberships and additional service fees may apply).

F1 Simulator & Recording Studio
A custom Mercedes-Benz race car simulator and a dedicated recording studio sit alongside a screening room and co-working spaces and library — amenities built around the brand's motorsport and design heritage rather than the usual clubroom formula.

Southside Park
Field Operations reimagined Southside Park — Brickell's largest greenspace — into a neighborhood gathering place with topographic contours, winding paths, playgrounds, padel and basketball courts, and dog runs at the foot of the towers.
The Tower
Who built it, who designed it, and what kind of building it actually is.
- Architect
- SHoP Architects, with Mercedes-Benz's own design team (working with ODP as architect of record)
- Developer
- JDS Development Group, in partnership with Mercedes-Benz
- Interior Designer
- Woods Bagot
- The Setup
- A mixed-use supertall, not a pure residential tower — two connected towers over a shared podium combine 791 branded condominium residences with a 174-key Treehouse Hotel, roughly 200,000 SF of office space, ground-floor retail, a City of Miami fire station, and the reimagined Southside Park, all on a site JDS has been assembling since 2020.
JDS Development Group, led by founder and CEO Michael Stern, is the New York-based developer behind supertalls including 111 West 57th Street and the American Copper Buildings. Mercedes-Benz Places Miami is JDS's first South Florida project and the first North American residential tower to carry the Mercedes-Benz name, following the automaker's branded residential projects elsewhere globally.

The Honest Take
In favor
- Mercedes-Benz's first residential project in North America, with a genuinely distinctive brand-driven amenity set (F1 simulator, Silver Arrow Lounge, Mercedes-Benz house car fleet) rather than a generic luxury checklist
- A world-class design team — SHoP Architects, Woods Bagot interiors, and Field Operations landscaping — with JDS Development Group's supertall track record (111 West 57th Street, American Copper Buildings) behind it
- Comes with a genuinely new public asset: Field Operations' reimagined Southside Park, Brickell's largest greenspace, built into the base of the project
- Mixed-use scale brings a 174-key hotel, office space, retail, dining, and a fire station on-site — more of a neighborhood than a single tower
Worth weighing
- Published pricing is inconsistent across sources — the developer's own site groups inquiries into broad bands ($500K to $3.5M+) rather than publishing firm per-unit prices, and third-party listings vary widely
- A 791-unit, 67-story mixed-use supertall with a hotel, offices, and retail underneath it means a far busier, more transient building than a boutique condominium
- Construction has been underway since 2022 with delivery targeted for 2027 — still several years from completion
- The nine example floor plans published by the developer cover only a portion of the South Tower's unit mix; the full 791-unit inventory across both towers isn't publicly itemized
