Brickell, Miami, United States · Solar-Powered Supertall — Under Construction

The Residences at 1428 Brickell

“A tower that generates part of its own power is, in Brickell, still mostly a novelty — 1428 Brickell is betting it becomes the standard.”

Marketed as the world's first solar-powered high-rise residential tower, 1428 Brickell integrates a 20,000-square-foot photovoltaic 'Solar Backbone' into its glass facade en route to LEED certification. The 70-story, ~189-residence tower is under construction at the intersection of Brickell Avenue and SE 14th Terrace; its completion target appears to have slipped from an original end-of-2026 estimate to 2028 in more recent coverage.
